Jake Roche Lands Emmerdale Role

Hello and welcome to today’s edition of A Slice Of Soap. There’s still time to enter this week’s caption competition so get scribbling and make us all laugh.

Hey guys, here’s a bit of soap gossip for you…Shane Richie and Coleen Nolan’s son, Jake Roache, has landed a role in Emmerdale.  According to reports, the 17-year-old has been cast as popular college student Isaac, and is set to be the new love interest for shy teenager Hannah Barton, played by actress Grace Cassidy.

Speaking to The Mirror about her son’s new job, Coleen Nolan admitted: "I can’t sleep because I’m so excited for Jake. We are all dead proud of him."

Jake said:  "After watching Emmerdale for years on TV, I still have to pinch myself on set as it’s all very surreal.

Speaking about Emmerdale’s latest signing, producer Gavin Blyth added: "Jake is a great addition to the cast. Isaac will be a fun character who will offer some light relief for Hannah as her family face their darkest hour."

Anyway soapsters, Roche’s first scenes in Emmerdale will air in August, and judging by his showbiz pedigree, something tells me  that he’s gonna be a real hit on the Dales.

That’s it for me, I’m out of here. Join me on Friday for more news and gossip and don’t forget to enter this week’s caption competition. Got a comment about your favourite soap, this blog or anything else? Share it with me (but keep it clean!).
