Alice Coulthard Quits Emmerdale

Hello and welcome to today’s edition of A Slice Of Soap. There’s still time to enter this week’s caption competition so get scribbling and make us all laugh.

Here’s a bit of Wednesday soap gossip for you guys…Emmerdale actress Alice Coulthard has announced that she’s leaving the soap to pursue new projects.

Speaking to the Daily Star, the 26-year-old, who plays Maisie Wylde explained: "After two amazing years, I’ve decided to leave Emmerdale. I’ve had a wonderful time and will miss working with such a hard-working and talented team of people.

Well, I guess the question that naturally comes to mind is how will Coulthard’s character will be written out of the show? As you can imagine, the details are currently being kept under wraps by the soap bosses at Emmerdale .

Talking about Coulthard’s exit, Gavin Blyth teased: "Maisie Wylde’s compelling story will take more twists and turns in the coming months as she delves into darker territory which will culminate in her exit from the show. Alice has been a real asset to Emmerdale and we’ll be sad to see her go."

The Emmerdale star will reportedly concentrate on finding work in London, her home city, after filming her final scenes.  Here on A Slice Of Soap, we wish Alice Coulthard every success for the future.

So, Maisie Wylde has suffered a breakdown, spent time in a clinic, oh…and learned that her boyfriend was her half-brother, but how do you think Maisie should exit the show? Let us know your thoughts by leaving a comment.
