Billie holds Phil at ‘gunpoint’ in EastEnders

Hello and welcome to another edition of A Slice Of Soap. There’s still time to enter this week’s caption competition so get scribbling and make us all laugh.  What’s going on in the soaps this week? Let’s find out (spoilers ahead).

First, according to the News of the World, Police reportedly went to the home of Steve McFadden – Phil Mitchell in EastEnders – after receiving information that he had guns. However, all they found was Steve McFadden’s porn star mate Omar Williams, known in that world as ‘Big Omar’.

It appears that the 51-year-old star was the victim of a hoax. A source said: "The police got two tip-offs that Steve had guns hidden in his home so an armed team was sent round to check it out.

No one was more shocked than Steve. The police did a quick search but put it down to a malicious call. They were very apologetic. The only weapon there, so to speak, was Omar’s. Steve was very co-operative but wasn’t impressed. He is wondering who would want to stitch him up like that." The actor declined to comment.

EastEnders w/e Friday 2 April

It’s all go for Steve McFadden – in the show itself, Billie’s loyalties are tested as his ‘friends’ seek revenge against Phil. Can I just say that I can’t remember the last time I saw a group of hoodies going into a pub for a drink. Maybe I should get out more.

Anyway, the gang force Billie to rob the Vic and he uses a ‘gun on Phil – but the ‘gun’ turns out to be a water pistol. Later, Billie’s real gun goes missing…
things take a turn for the better at the Slater house. Lucy comes close to telling Jane the truth about her abortion. Phil and Shirley realise that they need to convince Social Services that they’re a proper couple.

Janine and Ryan enlist Morgan to help them put their new money making scheme into action. Shirley has some bad news for Heather and tensions reach a climax between Whitney and Billie. Leon confronts Lucy over her pregnancy. Billie’s Balham crew take action against his family and friends. Janine plots to fleece Roxy of her inheritance. Becca’s shocked to learn that Archie isn’t the father of Stacey’s baby. Ryan decides that he needs to put Janine and Albert Square behind him. Chelsea struggles to win Carol’s approval. Stacey and Ronnie lay flowers for Danielle on the anniversary of her death. On the evening of Lauren’s birthday party, Jack’s shot at when Kylie tries to kill Billie.

Hollyoaks w/e Friday 2 April

Hollyoaks star Kieron Richardson and professional partner Brianne Delcourt ended up in third place on Dancing On Ice. The young actor, best known for playing Ste Hay, lost out to Hayley Tamaddon and Gary Lucy in the public vote. After learning his fate (and that he wouldn’t be performing Bolero), Kieron said: "I’ve had the most amazing experience of my life. I can’t thank Jayne [Torvill] and Chris [Dean] enough, the judges, you guys, and Brianne [] is now a friend for life. I hope I’ve done everyone at Hollyoaks proud and my friends and family."

Talking of Hollyoaks, Sasha’s distraught to discover another girl has been attacked, fearing it’s her attacker striking again. Malachy’s fed up with all the McQueens seeing Calvin as the golden boy. In a bid to win favour, he comes up with a plan to get some quick cash for the family. Jake’s still ignoring Loretta and Frankie’s calls and settling into life with Caroline and Johnny. Carmel’s delighted with all the effort Calvin’s making, truly believing he’s a changed man. The question is, are his old ways really behind him?

Meanwhile, Jake continues to search for his missing phone but ends up finding more than he bargained for. Carmel wonders why Calvin was visiting the police station; she gets all her fears off her chest to Mercedes. Sasha’s a wreck after Mercedes reveals Calvin left Warren to die in The Loft. Amy still worries that Olly’s out of her league. Despite a frosty start, Frankie and Loretta are beginning to unite over their hurt and worry for missing Jake. The consequences of Mercedes blabbing Calvin’s secret is taking its toll on his relationship with Carmel.

Coronation Street w/e Friday 2 April

Apparently Boyzone star Keith Duffy has thanked Coronation Street bosses for reinventing him as a sex symbol. The 35-year-old singer, who plays Ciaran McCarthy said: “I was starting to feel like I was getting too old. But Corrie has turned me into a sex symbol once more. They’ve hinted I may bed Michelle, Liz, Carla and Becky so I can’t wait to find out." What’s going on here? Am I the only person that thinks he adds absolutely nothing to the show? If Ciaran left tomorrow, I really wouldn’t miss him.

On’t cobbles, Jason gets his divorce papers through and decides to surprise Tina with a proposal – but how will she react? Meanwhile, there’s drama at Dev’s when one of the twins gets locked out of the flat on the balcony. Oh no!

Elsewhere, Nick and Audrey are worried that David’s going to end up back in prison and it all comes to blows between the b. Jason’s in shock as Tina tells him some home truths – including coming clean about her fling with Nick. Becky and Steve’s attempts to try for another baby are thwarted.

Dev and Sunita panic as they try to rescue Aadi from the balcony. Steve surprises Becky with a romantic hotel break, but things don’t go according to plan.

Later, Becky and Steve get some devastating news from the doctors. Sunita recruits some local help to try and buy number 7. I’m really liking Dev and Sunita this time around. Since the Corrie bosses ignored my pleas to turn Kelly and Lloyd into the new Jack and Vera, maybe they’ll try it with Sunita and Dev instead – I can really see this.

Emmerdale w/e Friday 2 April

Well, if you put any money on her early on, you’ll be quids in. Former Emmerdale star Hayley Tamaddon has won Dancing On Ice. She’s been the bookies’ favourite for weeks now, consistently topping the leader board and getting loads of praise from the panel of judges. Will she be able to capitalise on her win the way Ray Quinn did? That remains to be seen.

In the show Hayley was once a cast member of, Chas is determined to find out the truth about Aaron attacking Paddy and quietly calls the police. Is it time for Aaron to face up to the music? Moira insists on a soft-handed approach as she and John argue about Holly’s punishment. Cain’s incredulous when he finds out that Sam’s getting the dodgy passport as a surprise for Olena. Meanwhile, the police question Paddy about his attack. Laurel is desperately concerned by Ashley’s demeanour and demands he tell her what’s going on.

Holly’s grateful when John lies to Hannah about the real reason Holly lost her job. Will Ashley confide in his wife? Adam pushes Aaron for the truth about Paddy’s injuries… will Aaron trust Adam enough to confess? Meanwhile, Charity’s domestic life is wearing her down. Edna’s shocked when she comes back from church to find her grand-daughter Eve on her doorstep. Elsewhere, in Fatal-Attraction-on-the-Dales, Laurel snaps when she pushes her way into Sally’s flat. She leaves Sally’s life literally hanging in the balance as the two women grapple on the balcony. Will Laurel let Sally fall so that she’s rid of her once and for all? Or will she save her to save herself?
