EastEnders Plan Two-Hander Episode

Hello and welcome to another edition of A Slice Of Soap. There’s still time to enter this week’s caption competition so get scribbling and make us all laugh.

Hey guys, I ‘m sure that, like myself, you still haven’t got over the shock of Bradley dying on the live episode of EastEnders… oh, and the small matter of Stacey Branning being revealed as Archie Mitchell’s killer.

Well, if you want to talk about a well-guarded secret, apparently actress Lacey Turner was only informed about her character’s dark secret minutes before the programme went to air.

Lacey’s reaction to the news was originally intended to be filmed for broadcast on EastEnders Live: The Aftermath, but in an interview with Richard Bacon on 5Live, EastEnders head honcho Diederick Santer revealed: "Lacey came to see me and I had a camera pointed at her [to record] the whole thing, but because I’m technically incompetent I didn’t actually press record!"

So, it looks as though Scott Maslen fluffing his lines wasn’t the only thing that went wrong on Friday night.

So what’s next for Stacey Branning? Well, EastEnders bosses are planning to film a two-hander episode in which Max Branning finally comes face to face with Stacey following her confession. The episode, written by EastEnders lead writer and series consultant Simon Ashdown, is apparently due to air within the next two months.

Will Max stand by Stacey and keep her confession a secret? Or will Stacey live to regret her heat-of-the-moment confession? We’ll just have to wait for the two-hander episode to find out.

That’s it for me, I’m out of here. Join me on Friday for the result of this weeks  caption competition. Got a comment about your favourite soap, this blog or anything else? Share it with me.

  1. Sam says:

The worst bit of The Aftermath was George Lamb, he\’s such a repetitive presenter. Eastenders, you saaaay!! Ugh I think the Stacey/Max episode will be good. But i dont see it creating any suspense, whether or not Max will ever tell on Stacey, presumably he\’ll fulfill Bradleys wish and protect her. Plus there\’s their own history and him knowing exactly why she would have been driven to kill Archie…i just dont see him handing her in, even in his grief stricken state now!
