Hello and welcome to another edition of A Slice Of Soap. There’s still time to enter this week’s caption competition
so get scribbling and make us all laugh.
What’s going on in the soaps this week? Let’s find out (spoilers ahead).
EastEnders w/e Friday Feb 19
It’s a big week in EastEnders! Are we all psyched? Has it really been 25 years? Will this week’s live episode go well? Patsy Palmer has already admitted that she’s nervous about it.
She says the cast only received their scripts a week ago. "I’m not excited, I’m just more nervous, really – I just think if you were doing a play you’d have a script," she said. Wow! I can’t wait. And we’ll also find out who killed Archie. Any bets?
Robbie (Dean Gaffney’s back!) arrives for his sister’s wedding but Ricky’s getting cold feet. Sonia visits Jamie’s grave; Shirley agrees to allow Zsa Zsa and Heather to give her a makeover. Ricky’s tricked on his stag night. A drunk Sonia asks Phil about Jamie.
Later, he’s shocked when she turns up in his bed and Bianca’s stunned when her mother Carol turns up. Jack offers DC Hughes a bribe to lose the DNA samples. Shirley tells Phil that she wants nothing more to do with him.
Peggy thinks Janine’s responsible for Archie’s murder. Becca lets herself into The Vic. Roxy accuses Ronnie of killing their father. It’s the day of Ricky and Bianca’s wedding; Walford’s residents enjoy the day. Billie goes to The Vic with a gun. Bradley and Stacey also prepare to tie the knot. Later Max and Jack encourage Bradley to flee Walford. Archie’s killer is finally revealed…

Emmerdale w/e Friday Feb 19
Some news about Emmerdale’s James Thornton; he’s been treated for shock, as well as injuries to his legs and knees after he was knocked down by a car. The actor, who plays farmer John Barton, said that he’s lucky to be alive. We wish James Thornton a very speedy recovery. Talking of the farmer, he’s uneasy at Paddy’s findings but remains adamant the toxins can’t have come from his farm. Shadrach arrives back in the village. Katie decides to pay Maisie a secret visit. Carl’s furious when he finds out the Bartons are to blame for his children’s illness.
Katie’s sickened by Nathan’s revelation and confronts Ryan… will he own up? Charity’s at the garage with Debbie when an old contact of Cain’s arrives with a load of sat– navs that need shifting. Will Charity and Debbie go in on the scam? I think we already know the answer to that question.
Lisa returns from the police station traumatised and Zak blames Olena. Laurel and Ashley are still awkward in each other’s company. Diane and Doug take matters into their own hands and pay Laurel a visit. Nikhil’s reluctant to get involved in Debbie’s business venture. The villagers turn their backs on Shadrach.

Coronation Street w/e Friday Feb 19
I’m probably going to annoy Alan, but I’m loving Dev at the moment. He’s so funny! And now that Shobna Gulati has returned, Dev has a bit more of a purpose
(unless he’s playing golf with Steve – and I do like their golf days).
Shobna Gulati has been talking to the tabloids and revealed her devestation about her former lover who cheated on her with three other women. She told the News Of The World that she found out about it all after reading explicit text messages sent from his mobile phone. What is it with all these cheaters and explicit text messages recently?
Gail waits for a phone call from Joe and Audrey’s unconvinced about what she hears. Tina and Jason tell Eileen about their engagement. Dev and Sunita keep up their litte lie. Gail begins to crack and arouse suspicion. Leanne warns Carla about Nick. Anxious to maintain Gail’s cover, David texts Tina from Joe’s phone to wish her a happy birthday. In the Lake District, Joe’s body floats to the surface…
The debt collector is still trying to collect from the Platts. The police question Gail and Tina about Rick the loan shark. Tina covers for her dad. Audrey’s fed up of spending her evenings alone and decides to call Lewis. Kevin goes for a drink with Tyrone.

Hollyoaks w/e Friday Feb 19
As everyone suspected, the axe is starting to fall at Hollyoaks. Paul Marquess, the new producer, has axed three members of the Ashworth family. Sonny Flood (Josh), Suzanne Hall and Jim Millea (parents, Suzanne and Neville Ashworth), are all for the chop. An insider told the Daily Star: "He’s getting rid of the dead wood – nobody is safe. This is just the beginning. Over the next few months expect to wave goodbye to even more faces." The Ashworths have been in Hollyoaks since 2005.
The other worry for Hollyoaks is falling ratings so expect the storylines to ramp up in the next few months. This week, Josh and Darren are finding it hard to adjust to life without Hannah. Frustrated after her break up with Kris, Nancy’s determined to go out and have fun. Having been unknowingly plied with alcohol by Rhys, Josh causes a major car accident and is arrested for drink driving. As the McQueens prepare for the Champers and Pampers event in Evissa, Kathleen continues to create tension in the household.
A hungover Nancy wakes to find Des has moved himself into her flat. With Josh having been charged with drink driving, Rhys is forced to cover his guilt. Carmel’s fretting that no one will turn up to her Champers and Pampers event. A suspicious Anita’s sure that Ricky’s hiding something from her and is determined to find out what. Theresa’s gutted following her mum’s departure and angry over Jacqui’s interference. Josh is finding it hard to comprehend what happened on the night of the crash.
