Ricky Whittle Snubbed By Strictly Bosses

Hello and welcome to another edition of A Slice Of Soap. There’s still time to enter this week’s caption competition so get scribbling and make us all laugh.

Hey guys, I’m sure that by now you all know that Hollyoaks star Ricky Whittle came second in Strictly Come Dancing; a real shame because he was the best dancer by far.

But to add insult to injury, Ricky hasn’t been offered a place on the Strictly Come Dancing tour – despite begging the Strictly bosses.

The Hollyoaks star has revealed that he’s hurt about not being involved. He also said that he’s upset fellow contestants Ricky Groves and Natalie Cassidy were asked instead of him.

He told The Sun: "I wasn’t asked. I would have snapped someone’s arm off to go on tour. I asked someone about it but they never got back to me. It is a shame because I think we came up with routines to really entertain the audiences."

Talking about his dance partner Natalie Lowe, who has been invited on the Strictly tour, he added: "We were pulling off moves no-one else pulled off. I’m proud as she really pushed me and we did lifts that have never been seen before on Strictly."

So, what do you think soapsters – has Ricky Whittle got cause to complain? In fact, should he have been crowned winner of Strictly Come Dancing 2009 or was Chris Hollins a worthy winner? Have your say by leaving a comment.

That’s it for me. I’m taking a break over the holiday period so join me on  Wednesday January 13 for more soap news and gossip. The results of Friday’s caption competition will be announced on Friday January 15. Got a comment about your favourite soap, this blog or anything else? Share it with me.

What is wrong with the BBC Ricky Whittle is the only reason I would buy a ticket to see the strictly come dancing tour, he was definately the best dancer for a long time, he should have won strictly and would have done so if the BBC hadn\’t changed the format and decided not to have a dance off the week before the final so vote for Ricky.

  2. susan says:

good bubble for corrie tracy "i could murder a cuppa"

  3. janet says:

Here we goagain. Back to the Simon Cowell X Factor Syndrome. Ricky Whittle has everything. Handsome sexy and a wonderful dancer, and teamed up with Natalie Lowe was sensational. The dancing and chemistry was fantastic. They should have won.Now to add insult to injury he\’s not been invited to go on tour. What on earth is the matter with the so called \’Bosses\’ Shame on you all. What a misguided cruel decision.

  4. Sam says:

I think the BBC are simply trying to distance themselves from his current legal problems. The last thing they need, is the show being associated with yet more controversy! Why else would they have dropped this years best dancer? He lost alot of votes and popularity when the story broke, thats what cost him the crown. Ali Bastian with her void personality would have even clinched the title over him. Chris won it by default, lets be honest!

  5. Ms says:

Ricky was by far the best dancer but get into trouble and you will be out. I think all these shows are becoming a bit of a farce now and maybe its time to call it a day – I mean how did Joe Callzaghe stay as long as he did? Its who you are now not what you are capable of. I just heard that Katie Price is going in to Big Brother – time to turn off i think!!!!!!!!!!!

  6. maureen says:

GOOD DANCER, YES – but it\’s not all about dancing !

  7. Yvonne says:

Chris won because he got more votes, plain and simple and not by default. However it does strengthen my opinion that these programmes have little to do with talent and more to do with how many family and friends you got that will vote everyweek for you. It happends on all these shows and its about time the voting was changed to just the judgeing panel and can we have an odd number on the panel as how can len have deciding vote with an even number its just not fair

  8. Yvonne says:

as for Ricky Whittle not being asked to go on tour well i was shocked he wasnt kicked out of show when his legal problems became public anyway. Ricky you danced well was obvious favorite to win however you lost end of. get a grip and move on. you aint going on tour so stop moaning about it, natalie and ricky groves had an entrtainment value that obviousy impressed those in charge

  9. Unknown says:

I didn\’t believe at the time that Chris Hollins should have won Strictly, and I still believe that – Chris Hollins must know his victory is hollow because he was not the best dancer – he should have been voted out instead of Ali Bastion. As for Ricky Whittle not being invited on the tour, that is a real shame because he is a superb dancer and he shows emotion in all his dances – shame on you BBC!
