Hello and welcome to another edition of A Slice Of Soap. There’s still time to enter this week’s caption competition so get scribbling and make us all laugh.
EastEnders w/e Friday December 11
As you’re all aware, we’re now into December and before you know it, Christmas will be around the corner. That can mean only one thing in EastEnders: guaranteed misery. So get ready for it – because it’s coming.
This week, Tony leaves a message for Whitney. After an argument with Whitney, Ricky blurts out that he’s Tiffany’s biological father. Whitney’s stunned and Bianca’s furious with Ricky. Max forges Rachel’s signature.
Ian signs up to an online dating service. Jean wants Stacey home. Ryan turns down Janine’s offer to sleep with him. Janine gets Ian drunk. Bradley visits his mother in hospital. Tony’s trial gets underway. Archie proposes to Janine. Phil wants the money Max owes him. Stacey returns; Bradley watches over her and makes a big confession. Phil tells Tanya that Max has been stealing his clients’ insurance premiums. Tanya packs her bags.

Emmerdale w/e Friday December 11
This might be either the height of dedication or vanity – you choose. Emmerdale’s John Middleton (who plays Reverend Ashley Thomas) has told bangshowbiz.com that he’s so addicted to several of the show’s storylines that he’s found a way to ensure he never misses the action. He said: "I’ve seen all the episodes I’ve missed on DVD, and the fire at the church was dramatic stuff." Isn’t that sweet? I love the fact that he’s such a fan of the show that pays his wages.
Tallking of Ashley, wow what a big fight he and Laurel had. Anyway, he’s hurt when he realises that Laurel won’t be returning home anytime soon. Doug isn’t happy that his family are the talk of the town. Brenda’s not happy to discover that Terry and Val have gone out for lunch to celebrate the restaurant plans. Laurel’s sister Caroline tells Ashley that Laurel doesn’t want to see him. Charity’s finding village life hard. Aaron suggests a lads’ night out and Adam invites Holly.
Ashley’s not happy about his situation and this makes him on edge. Matters come to a head with Doug and the pair come to blows. Holly feels left out as Adam and Aaron chat; she leaves but the boys get into a car accident later on. As Adam leans over him to check his injury, Aaron instinctively kisses him. Charity and Debbie are still at odds.
It’s all very awkward between Aaron and Adam. Holly questions Adam but she’s confused by his sudden dislike of Aaron. Val has a dig at Ashley about his marriage. Lisa’s concerned that Sam’s becoming too attached to Olena. Aaron refuses to talk to Adam about what happened.

Maisie and Ryan have a flirty moment

Have Leyla and David rekindled their old magic?
Coronation Street w/e Friday December 11
Before we talk about this week’s episodes, which see the return of Shobna Gulati as Sunita, I want to say how devastated I am, still, about the death of Maggie Jones. So many of the oldie in Coronation Street are written as kind and understanding people. That’s not to say that Blanche couldn’t be kind or understanding. But she was, first and foremost, the kind of woman who was never afraid to speak her mind. This made for some great moments in the Barlow household and I always looked forward to seeing her put down Ken(neth). Without Blanche, the Barlows will probably go back to being a bit boring. That’s how great she was. OK, back to the show.
Ken asks Deirdre to pull some strings in the planning department to stop Peter’s scheme. Becky and Claire decide to put on a panto. Molly’s not happy that Kevin’s still with Sally. Gary’s on a high after returning from his army taster weekend. George rumbles Ken’s secret sideline as a department store Santa. Rosie’s up to her old tricks.
Sally’s annoyed that Kevin’s forgotten their wedding anniversary. He points out that they can’t celebrate two wedding anniversaries each year. Dev gets a huge surprise at the golf club; he sees his twin boys in Matt’s car. Matt’s forced to explain that his new fiancée is Sunita. Carla gets a letter from Tony in prison. He drops a big bombshell. Graeme’s agreed to fix Emily’s broken window but makes the mistake of letting Norris hold the ladder…

Hollyoaks w/e Friday December 11
So, who’s watching Strictly Come Dancing? In a shocking result, despite topping the leader board for his ballroom and Latin dances, our very own Ricky Whittle ended up in the bottom two for the second week in a row. He may be scoring points with the judges, but he’s not doing so with the public. Could it be that his off air dramas are colouring people’s views about him? Not good. Not good at all.
Zoe, Mike and Amy are all struggling with life after the trial. The aftermath of Sarah’s death is preying on everyone. Zoe and Mike share a kiss but they’re spotted by Lydia who tells Amy. Theresa’s annoyed when Anita lies to Leila again. Everyone’s preparing for Christmas, some more than others. Myra wants to deck the outside of the house in lights. Carmel warns her not to fiddle with the electricity. Ste tries to encourage Amy to spend time with the kids.
It’s the Christmas party at the student halls. Dave tops up the water Josh is drinking with vodka. Anita collapses at the party and goes to hospital. Michaela and Amy are fed up and penniless. Gaz finds out about Jacquis’s scam. Anita accuses Dave of spiking her drink. Sasha sees Calvin giving Mercedes a comforting hug. Mike apologises to Zoe for making as pass at her but Lydia tells him that Zoe’s moved in with them. Concerned about Anita, Ravi’s enraged and he heads off to confront Dave.

Michaela asks Jacqui for money
Theresa is forced to leave the party
