Hello and welcome to another edition of A Slice Of Soap. There’s still time to enter this week’s caption competition so get scribbling and make us all laugh. What’s going on in the soaps this week? Let’s find out…
EastEnders w/e Friday November 20
Now we’ve got to come to terms with the loss of Charlie Clements. It’s not a great time for EastEnders at the moment.
I’m pretty sure Bradley Branning won’t be killed off though. Soap actors come and go (Danniella Westbrook, anyone?) and the last thing the writers will want to do is shut off the possibility of bringing back Bradley.
So with that in mind, this week’s action. Archie continues to meddle in Sam’s life. Phil tells Max to pay back the money he ‘stole’. Denise is frustrated by Libby’s concern for Owen. Jack offers to babysit for Roxy but she continues to evade him. Sam tells Ricky about kissing Jack. Bianca confronts Jack about it before having a go at Sam. Catfight!
Libby’s furious that Lucas told the police about Owen. Phil threatens to tell Tanya about Max’s scam if he doesn’t pay up. Janine asks Archie about his divorce. Denise visits Owen in prison; he tells her that Lucas killed Trina.
At the Children In Need dance, Ricky’s waiting for Sam but Pat urges him to dance with Bianca instead. They’re reluctant at first, but off they go. Guess the rest… Meanwhile, Archie’s helping Sam into a taxi out of Albert Square. He gives her a wad of cash. Owen tells Liz that he’ll deal with Lucas himself.

Emmerdale w/e Friday November 20
The soap revolving door continues to spin around and around – this time, throwing out Joseph Gilgun, who’s played lovable rogue Eli Dingle since 2006. He said it’s the right time to move on. "It will be sad to leave – I’ve made a lot of good friends there but I think it is time to move on as far as my career is concerned." He’s leaving to pursue other opportunities. Good luck to him; he’ll make his exit early next year.
So this week, Leyla urges David to give her another chance, promising that she’ll never let him down again. Charity tells Carl that she no longer needs him to fleece Cain… Carl threatens to tell Cain about their plan. Laurel contemplates smothering Sally while she’s sleeping (as you do). Val gets excited about the prospect of opening a restaurant for the B&B. Nicola and Jimmy can’t reach an agreement about Angelica’s godparents. Charity steals the key to Cain’s storage unit containing his cash.
Moira offers to help Marlon in the kitchen, but the conversation turns a bit personal. Debbie’s delighted when she finds out Charity and Cain are back together. Hannah’s upset when Moira and John refuse to let her go to Aaron’s party. Meanwhile, Charity’s privately wrestling with her guilt over the key. Will she go through with deceiving Cain?

Coronation Street w/e Friday November 20
Doing some research, I came across an article about Sean Wilson in the Swindon Advertiser. According to the paper Sean, famous for his role as Martin Platt, is currently an artisan cheesemaker. He was asked if he’s retired from acting: "Not at all. If you are out of show business for a while agents just don’t ring you as much." The last thing I saw Sean Wilson on was Dancing On Ice. With the spate of reality shows around, I’m sure he’ll turn up on one of them soon enough. But what a career change!
Tony’s arrested on suspicion of Liam’s murder. Gossip spreads about his arrest. Julie’s furious with Eileen for forcing Jesse to sack her and they have a bout of hair-pulling. Sisters, eh? Eileen rifles through Jesse’s wallet and makes another discovery.
Gary decides to go to an army taster weekend. Ted’s delighted when Gail asks him to give her away.
Tony knows that he’s lost Maria and goes after Roy. He finds him at the canal and they have a fight.Tony watches Roy slip beneath the water. David talks about Gail’s wedding with his new girlfriend Zoe. It’s clear he doesn’t approve. Tony walks into a police station and confesses to murder. Maria’s shocked to hear that he’s handed himself in and goes to the police station to confront him.
Michelle and Ryan keep a broken Maria company. Barry and Helen fly in from Ireland. Joe gets a call from the debt collector and is horrified when he hears that his debt has now doubled. The Barlows welcome George and Eve to tea but they’re shocked at Blanche’s behaviour.

I’m A Celebrity has only just started and already there are rumours of a possible romance. According to the Sunday Mirror, former Mis-teeq singer Sabrina Washington and ex Hollyoaks actor Stuart Manning have become quite close. As you know, Stuart played Russ Owen for five years. Are we looking at the next Katie Price and Peter Andre? Well, I’ll be tuning in!
To the present goings on and Amy returns but finds it difficult to settle back in. Lauren’s distracted by a postcard from her mum. Loretta tells Jake that she’s planning to go and see Nancy. Cindy becomes paranoid about ageing and Tony seems unsympathetic. Amy decides to go and pay Ste a visit. Lauren becomes suspicious of Newt’s feelings towards Rae. Kris, Elliot and Zak are becoming exasperated, both with Sheila and working at the call centre. Steph’s reluctant to let a poorly Tom stay with Jake.
Tom drinks alcohol while Darren’s caring for him. Jacqui starts her new job as a dinner lady at Hollyoaks High. Neville sacks Darren. Elliot’s struggling to revise because thoughts of Sheila keep running around his head. Newt has to face up to the fact that the Rae he’s met now isn’t the Rae he knew from the warehouse.
