Peggy kisses Archie in EastEnders

Hello and welcome to today’s edition of A Slice Of Soap. There’s still time to enter this week’s caption competition so get scribbling and make us all laugh. What’s going on in the soaps this week? Let’s find out.

EastEnders w/e Friday November 6

It’s still hard to digest the shocking news that Barbara Windsor is leaving EastEnders. Somehow I never thought the day would come. When she leaves, the Mitchells will lose what’s remaining of their magic as far as I’m concerned.

I’ve never liked the Mitchell sisters and Phil’s never been the same without bruv Grant. Now he won’t have his mum too – sad times. I guess we’ve got to enjoy Peggy while we still can.

Archie tells Sam she move in to one of the spare rooms at his house. Syed receives another blackmail text message. Jay steals Lucy’s phone. Lucas proposes to Denise again. Ian freaks out over Lucy’s mugging. Archie and Janine’s evil plan is to frame Billy for a fire at the Vic. Ian and Jane have a fight. Christian’s confused when he calls the blackmailer’s phone and sees Masood with it; he then figures out who the  blackmailer is…

Archie takes matters into his own hands and strikes a match, unaware that Peggy’s inside. Jane’s devastated about Ian’s stance over children so when Masood turns up at the café, they kiss. Archie and Peggy reminisce and then she grabs him for a kiss. Knife in his hand, Lucas tells Owen to leave Walford. Jane packs her bags and Ian gives her an ultimatum.

Also on EastEnders this week:
Billy searches for a job
Jay brings Lucy a box of chocolates
Tanya realises that Jane is broody and wants a baby

Emmerdale w/e Friday November 6

A little bit of bad news for fans of David and Leyla’s relationship; it will come to a bad end in the next couple of weeks, star Matthew Wolfenden has revealed. But then again, that’s no huge surprise if you know the rules of soapland: Leyla (Roksaneh Ghawam-Shahidi) cheated on David when she had a drunken one-night stand with Nathan – and you never get away with that kind of thing in soaps. It will always come out in the end. Matthew offered a glimmer of hope when he said: "I think he still loves Leyla and I think he could forgive her – but who knows, let’s wait and see."

This week, David blames Nathan for the car accident. Leyla opens up to Gennie about Nathan and the accident. Sally’s settling back into life at the Thomas household. Pollard advises David be a bit more romantic so he takes Leyla out and proposes. But her response surprises him. Charity’s still trying it on with Cain. Leyla finds a sympathetic ear in Doug; he tells her to be honest with David. Sally decides not to help when Laurel’s coat is set alight.

Arriving at the bonfire, Charity continues to make Cain jealous. Moira becomes concerned when she sees Holly and Aaron flirting. Pollard decides to talk to Leyla who assures him that she loves David.

Also in Emmerdale this week:
Hannah’s trying to raise money for her school trip
Laurel’s frustrated by Sally’s persistent interference
Pollard’s concerned to see David looking so down

Coronation Street w/e Friday November 6

Tony Gordon’s deathbed confession got just over 9m viewers watching Coronation Street last Friday. He told Roy Cropper: "I killed Liam" on the climactic episode. Maybe it’s just me, but I thought it was such an anti-climax after all that hype. I’m really starting to think that the Corrie writers have lost their mojo.

Anyway, word of Tony’s heart attack spreads on’t cobbles. Maria has some shocking news too. Ryan’s not happy to discover that his mum’s spent the night with Jake and they have a massive row. A man called George claims to be Simon’s granddad, much to Peter’s annoyance.

Roy struggles with Tony’s secret. David brings his new girlfriend Zoe home to meet Gail and Joe. Graeme offers to clean Emily’s windows and Freda returns to No 3. Roy wants to go to the police but Hayley stops him. Norris tries to find the perfect employee for The Kabin. Tyrone and Molly meet Jack and Connie for a drink. Joe surprises Gail with a romantic meal, complete with Champagne on the back of the boat. Then he gets down on one knee and proposes. Will Gail accept?

Also on Coronation Street this week:
Sally enjoys bossing the factory girls around
Dev refuses to pay Jake’s bill as it’s too steep
Julie and Jesse arrange to meet for a children’s party

Hollyoaks w/e Friday November 6

Oaks fans, if you didn’t see Ricky Whittle dance on Strictly Come Dancing this week, head over the the BBC and watch the clip. He was brilliant! Ricky and his partner Natalie Lowe danced to Down With Love by Holly Palmer and Michael Bublé from the film of the same name which starred René Zellweger. It was wow! So this week on Hollywoodoaks, Spencer doesn’t know what to do with himself now that he’s the boss of a nightclub, so Calvin sends him down to the SU Bar to study his target market.

Kris takes pity on Archie. Suzanne and Neville’s 15-year-old godson Duncan turns up. Mercedes is feeling ‘frustrated’. Rhys tries to seduce India but Hayley intervenes. Josh is horrified when he returns home to find Rhys kissing Hayley. Cindy’s pleased when Tony suggests a night out. Mercedes and Calvin share a kiss. Anita’s loneliness reduces her to tears. Nancy’s concerned about Anita and Hannah’s friendship but she’s even more concerned when Hannah opens up about Anita’s eating disorder.

The students make a guy for the bonfire at The Loft. Everyone watches in horror as a firework in Spencer’s hand explodes. Leila’s worried sick about Anita because she needs help. Jacqui’s horrified when she finds out that the photographs she posed for will be in a lads’ mag. Spencer’s treated in hospital for first-degree and Sasha feels guilty for not looking out for him.

Also this week on Hollyoaks:
Rhys hears some home truths from Sasha
Cindy and Dom have a spat
A lonely Spencer is fed up of being left out

That’s it for me, I’m out of here. Join me on Wednesday for more soap news and gossip and don’t forget to try this week’s caption competition
