Corrie Star Discovers Dead Body

Hello and welcome to today’s edition of A Slice Of Soap. There’s still time to enter this week’s caption competition so get scribbling and make us all laugh.

Hey soapsters, it looks as though life’s beginning to imitate art for Coronation Street actress Samia Smith aka Maria. As you may have heard, the pregnant soap star had the terrible misfortune of discovering a man’s corpse in the back of a van while visiting family in Sale, Greater Manchester.

It’s believed that the vehicle caught her attention when she heard a dog barking inside. According to witnesses, she began sobbing before ringing 999.

One neighbour said: "It must have been so upsetting for the poor girl, especially as she is on the verge of having a little one. There were others around here who were aware of the barking but did nothing, possibly because you never know what might happen."

Another said: "No one around here was aware it was Samia from Corrie who discovered the body until a policeman mentioned it in passing."

A Corrie source said that Samia was quite shaken up but was still able to make it in to work to film scenes. However, Samia has decided not to talk to the media about her shock discovery of the dead body.

I don’t know about you guys, but my heart really goes out to Samia Smith. She’s had a real tough year. If you recall, back in April, she was left devastated after losing her father to cancer. Let’s just hope that she gets over this latest shock quickly, and that we’ll soon be reading some good news about the birth of Samia’s little baby boy or girl.

That’s it for me, I’m out of here. Join me on Friday for the result of Friday’s Caption Competition. Got a comment about your favourite soap, this blog or anything else? Share it with me.
