EastEnders Actress In Mourning

Hello and welcome to today’s edition of A Slice Of Soap.

Hey soapsters. I’m sure that, like myself, you were all very sad to hear about the death of EastEnders star Samantha Womack’s father over the weekend.

The distraught actress was pictured in floods of tears outside her 60-year-old dad’s flat in Brighton on Sunday. Speaking on her behalf, Samantha’s husband actor Mark Womack said: "She asks to be left alone to grieve with her family."

Noel Janus, who was the brother of Angie Best (George Best’s ex-wife) was believed to have been suffering from depression and had recently collected some hospital test results for a suspected heart condition.

According to the Daily Star, EastEnders producers are encouraging Samantha to take as much time as she needs to grieve for her father. She had been due to film scenes as Ronnie Mitchell on Enders this week, but schedules will now be changed due to the tragedy.

A spokeswoman for the programme said: "Our thoughts are with Sam and her family at this terrible time. We want her to take off as much time as she needs."

Here on A Slice Of Soap, we offer our deepest condolences to Samantha Womack and family. If you’d like to leave any messages of support, please feel free to do so by adding a comment.
