Ex EastEnders Star Mohammed George Is ‘Broken’

Hello and welcome to today’s edition of A Slice Of Soap. There’s still time to enter this week’s caption competition so get scribbling and make us all laugh.

Mohammed George, who played Gus Smith in EastEnders for five years, is set to release his new Single ‘Broken’ next month, coinciding with his court case victory over The Sun newspaper.

As you may recall, back in April Mo George was awarded £75,000 libel damages over an article printed by the paper wrongly accusing him of ‘beating up’ the mother of his daughter.

Now that the libel case is well and truly behind him, Mohammed George is now ready to put himself back in the spotlight. The single also features Dax O’Callaghan who’s a member of boyband Lexington Bridge. Mohammed and Dax met when they were pupils at the famous Sylvia Young’s stage school. They see this collaboration as the first of many to come.

The former soap star turned DJ  is also hoping to release an album later in the year. Readers of this blog will know that Gus Smith is a bit of an icon here on A Slice Of Soap; he was the inspiration behind our old Friday afternoon feature ‘Gus Watch’ (ah… those were the days). We wish Mohammed George every success with his new single. Here on A Slice Of Soap, we’ll do everything in our power to make sure that it gets to No 1… or at least as high as any song released by an ex EastEnder gets.

The song is due for release at the end of September but if you can’t wait until then, why not have  a listen to this promo of ‘BROKEN’ and tell us what you think.

That’s it for me, I’m out of here. Join me on Friday for the result of our caption competition. Got a comment about your favourite soap, this blog or anything else? Share it with me.
