Hello and welcome to today’s edition of A Slice Of Soap. There’s still time to enter this week’s caption competition so get scribbling and make us all laugh. What’s going on in soapland this week? Let’s find out…
It’s all about weddings in EastEnders it seems. Dawn Swann (Kara Tointon) will have a white water wedding; she’ll leave Walford on a boat with Garry Hobbs (Ricky Groves). But not before some daft drama that sees Garry, who’s loved her for ages, suddenly getting cold feet on his wedding day. It’s that old unwritten soap rule about weddings not going smoothly. Meanwhile, there’s a double surprise in store for Ronnie.
She walks into the Vic and finds Peggy throwing her an engagement party… but no Jack. He belatedly proposes. Lucas and Trina argue on the Square. Christian tells Amira that he kissed a new man on Friday. Minty tries to take Manda back to his for ‘coffee’ again but she declines.
Jane’s in shock when she discovers that the café wasn’t insured. Jack confronts Ronnie over tampering with their birth control. Syed tells Christian that their kiss was a mistake. Lucas admits that he and Trina were heroin addicts. Patrick is annoyed at Lucas. Ian wonders where he can raise the cash to pay the builders for the refit. Max and Bradley are thrown out of their house. Minty’s upset when he sees Manda leaving the community centre with two men. Max suggests that he and Bradley move in with Dot. Roxy receives a call from Ronnie. Denise is outraged when Trina claims that she slept with Lucas.

Actor Kevin Fletcher has gone all Method on us. Speaking to MyParkMag about his Emmerdale character Andy Sugden’s breakdown, he said: "I did research the storyline; I spoke to a charity called Mind who work with people who have mental health issues. It’s interesting to find out the facts, but like every other storyline there is only so much research you can do your own imagination has make it real." Keep going Kevin – you’re doing a great job. This week, the Woodentops, my cult faves, move front and centre: it’s confession time for Mark as his darkest secret is finally revealed. Cain demands more money or he’ll tell Natasha everything.
Nathan resents the fact that Katie’s giving him the cold shoulder. Natasha discovers a devastating revelation about her husband; has his lies destroyed their family? Victoria visits Andy and finds that he’s still in a world of his own. Paddy and Diane also become concerned for Andy’s state of mind. Natasha visits Faye for her side of the story. Andy lets Katie move her business to Butler’s. Mark and Natasha struggle to hide their problems from the children. Katie realises how ill Andy is when he thinks that she’s still his wife. Lexi is pregnant but Carl’s not pleased.

Coronation Street w/e Friday June 26
It looks like another wedding’s on the cards. Corrie’s Becky Granger (Katherine Kelly) and Steve McDonald (Simon Gregson) will attempt to tie the knot again. If you recall, they tried to get married in April, but she got so drunk that the ceremony was called off. What a totally bizarre episode that was – no way near delivering on the hype.
Back to this week and hormones are going crazy on’t cobbles. Fiz chains herself to the prison railings and asks John Stape to marry her. Slug calls into the Rovers again to see Becky, arousing Lloyd’s suspicions. A storyline I’m really having problems with – Kevin tells Molly that he wants to jump on her every time he sees her. Yuck. Jason apologises to Tina for drunkenly making a move on her. Rosie spends the night with Luke (the little minx!).
It’s the day of Gary’s court case and the Windasses are dreading the outcome. Meanwhile, David can’t contain his glee. Kevin finds himself rowing with Sally about Rosie, while over at Number 9, Molly and Tyrone are at loggerheads over Jack and Connie. Fiz is desperate to tell someone about her proposal to John and she eventually pours her heart out to a concerned Hayley. Maria and Tony have settled into a nice routine but she’s desperate to have the baby. There’s an embarrassing moment when the conversation turns to sex. Is this Coronation Street or Hollyoaks? I need to look twice…

Zoe Lister, who plays Zoe Carpenter in the Chester-based soap, has been talking about her favourite Hollyoaks storyline – when her character was stalked by her boyfriend. "The most memorable for me was the one with my weird boyfriend Will who stalked me," she said. It’s been a tough few weeks for Zoe; the bubbly blonde failed her film degree after refusing to sleep with sleazy lecturer Adrian. This week, Ravi comes onto new lesbian barmaid Charlotte, before collapsing outside the SU bar. Leila’s acting cold towards Elliot and then reveals she’s pregnant. Cindy and Tony share a passionate kiss. Ravi’s diagnosed with an aneurysm.
Darren’s on a mission to discover who Cindy’s new mystery man is. Zak begins to see his brother Caleb for what he really is – an aggressive bully. A scared Caleb admits that he’s terrified at the prospect of going back to Afghanistan. Archie organises a pre-grad party. Zoe and Sarah have a heart-to-heart and get their friendship back on track. Newt sees Theresa with Ste and they end up sleeping together. While everyone else is celebrating graduation, Zoe feels left out. At the ball, everyone couples up, while Rhys cuts a lonely figure. Meanwhile, Archie ends up bedding a McQueen… …
