Hello and welcome to today’s edition of A Slice Of Soap. There’s still time to enter the caption competition so get scribbling and make us all laugh. What’s going on in soapland this week? Let’s find out… Regular readers of this blog will know that I’ve got a lot of time for Dev Alahan (played by Jimmi Harkishin); I find him completely hilarious – especially the WAY he SHOUTS words in sentences that just don’t REQUIRE louder volume. DEV has been a NAUGHTY boy and TARA’s getting REVENGE BY PUTTING his SAGGY NAKED body on display, as you can SEE from these pictures (thanks to ITV).
Coronation Street w/e Friday May 15
What do you think of Dev’s body? Let us know by selecting ‘add a comment’. Is he a hottie or a nottie?
In addition, Andrew Sachs makes his Corrie debut as Norris Cole’s estranged half-brother Ramsay Clegg. As you’ll probably know by now, the Fawlty Towers star was at the centre of the Ross/Brandgate saga. The other Corrie news is that it won six gongs at the British Soap Awards as you can see here. What else is going on in Corrie this week? Well…
As Dev plans his proposal, Tara plans his humiliation. Jason plays peacemaker between Eileen and Julie. Blanche and Peter have a terrible time living together. Peter and Luke go into battle over Michelle. ‘Damian’ David’s up to his old tricks again – the Platt boy is a real prat – but he gets more than he bargained for. Jack’s surprised when Connie offers him a holiday in Spain. Meanwhile Fiz gets a phone call saying John has been attacked by an inmate.

Emmerdale w/e Friday May 15
Tony Haygarth and Lewis Linford – who play farmhand Mick Naylor and his gamekeeper grandson Lee Naylor – are being written out as their characters have apparently "had their day". There’s no arguing with that really so on with the show itself… Andy and Victoria are struggling to cope and matters aren’t helped when Victoria loses Sarah before Andy’s CAFCASS visit. Laurel tries to help Nicola face her new responsibilities by arranging an appointment with a midwife. Aaron and Eli break into Holdgate Farm to steal cast iron fireplaces for scrap metal but Cain catches them in the act. Debbie is hurt when Cain suggests they take Sarah away to start a new life. She’s further stunned when he tells her his darkest secret – he’s a police informant. David has a bad feeling about Nathan’s motives as Leyla prepares for her first day at Home Farm.
Chas fears that Cain is leading Aaron astray. It’s Nicola’s birthday but she’s not in the mood to celebrate. The doctor has confirmed that she’s four months pregnant… can she tell Jimmy the truth? Rodney can’t put his finger on the reason Nicola is still unwell. David worries that he can’t match his father politically. Laurel’s in pieces and blurts out Nicola’s secret to Rodney who confronts his daughter. Cain gives Aaron some money to keep Victoria occupied for the day so he convinces her to skip school. Naughty Cain then deviously calls Victoria’s school to report her behaviour…

EastEnders w/e Friday May 15
It appears as though EastEnders is officially Britain’s best soap after bagging seven prizes, including the top accolade, at the annual British Soap Awards. I’m really not surprised at this result but it was fantastic to see that Barbara Windsor has received a Lifetime Achievement award. Back to the rest of the week’s drama and Peggy’s furious when she finds a hung over Phil sprawled out on the sofa. Ronnie tells Roxy she’s back with Jack after spending the night with him. Bradley’s worried that Syd’s ignoring him. Tanya has another date and Charlie receives a letter from the electricity company threatening to cut them off. There’s still bad feeling between the Mitchell sisters over events at the Christening; Roxy tells Ronnie she was out of order.
Archie and Peggy’s wedding photos arrive. Phil discharges himself from hospital and turns up at Shirley’s flat. Ben’s upset at seeing his dad in such a terrible state (little wonder, given the cartoonish acting of Steve McFadden as he attempts to play Phil drunk). Dotty continues to play mind games with Dot. Tanya accuses Max of interfering with her love life. Jack arranges a romantic picnic for Ronnie and Max meets a brunette called Lily. Jack buys an engagement ring and Nick ups the ante with his mind games on his poor old ma.

Phil falls down the stairs
Stacey’s on a sharp decline
Dot thinks she’s losing her mind
Hollyoaks w/e Friday May 15
There won’t be many happy bunnies associated with Hollywoodoaks as the Chester-based soap failed to bag a single gong from the British Soap Awards. Not one award – a real contrast to last year when the likes of Chris Fountain were posing happily with their prizes. What went wrong? Oh well – at least the ladies stole the show (as always) on the red carpet as you can see from this gallery. By the way, if you don’t want to know who dies in the Hollyoaks fire at the end of the month please stop reading…SPOILER: It’s old news now that Chris
Fountain and Jamie Lomas will exit via a dramatic arson attack involving the unhinged Clare Devine (Gemma Bissix). Speculation
has been rife as to who dies in the blaze – well, it’s Warren who will meet his maker. This probably won’t be news to those of you that tuned into This Morning last week as Fern let the cat out of the bag live on air!
Back to this week’s action and Jacqui’s stunned to read a letter from Russ’ solicitor. Hannah’s happy after finally getting together with Justin at the McFly gig. Cindy forces Darren to go underwear shopping with her. Warren continues to hide in The Loft. Calvin panics and tells Sasha that he hates Warren for lying to him about Nige. Russ tells Nancy he wants to take Max and leave the Village. Hannah’s annoyed that Josh has told Suzanne about her relationship with Justin. Warren’s furious when he discovers that someone has sprayed ‘murderer’ on the window of Evissa. Calvin offers Justin immunity to admit anything he has on Warren to the police. Hannah’s in full panic mode as Justin prepares for his first Ashworth family meal. Sure enough, Justin and Rhys come to blows.
Carmel struggles to cope looking after a crying Max and is grateful when Theresa takes over. Sarah’s in a flap; she’s cooking dinner for Lydia and has no idea what to do. Warren’s on the edge of a breakdown and his paranoia increases when he discovers The Loft has been vandalised again. There’s tension between Russ and Nancy following her ultimatum. Nancy’s touched when Russ organises a romantic meal for her birthday in Il Gnosh. Darren spots an opportunity to get back at Cindy for losing him his job. Anita’s apprehensive about returning to school. Justin shocks Hannah when he confesses that he helped Warren move Sean’s body…
