Ewww! Corrie’s Jason And Julie Go To Bed

Hello and welcome to today’s edition of A Slice Of Soap. There’s still time to enter the caption competition so get scribbling and make us all laugh.   What’s going on in soapland this week? Let’s find out…

Coronation Street w/e Friday April 24

I want to start by hoping that Corrie actor Mikey North is OK. The 22-year-old – who plays bad boy Gary Windass – needed emergency surgery following an assault. I wish him a speedy recovery. Let’s talk about what’s going on in Corrie now and strong stomachs will be needed! Not only will we see Dev pose in the nude, we’ll also see a drunk Jason get it on with Julie. Yuck. They say hell hath no fury than a woman scorned and that’s certainly the case with Dev’s girlie Tara. She’s going to get revenge following his fling with that accountant Lisa. But instead of maxing out his credit cards or cutting up his suits, she’s getting him naked instead. If you’re planning to have your dinner in front of the TV, consider yourselves warned!

In the rest of this week’s action, Maria cancels her hospital appointment. Over at the factory, Luke’s onto Tony’s private investigator. Steve and Becky return from the Maldives to find Liz and Lloyd having a duvet day (they really want us spewing our guts up this week, don’t they?). Luke’s left red-faced after a mask stunt goes wrong. Tony comforts Maria and forgets about his date with Natasha. Tracy wants Amy to visit her in prison. Tony threatens to stop all Underworld orders from his textile business if Luke doesn’t reinstate him. Maria’s told she’s having a boy, but the image of Liam’s son is too much for Tony…

Jason offers to be Molly’s training partner. Amy asks Becky if her mum’s a murderer and Becky tells her the truth. Tyrone’s annoyed that Molly’s encouraging Jack to see Connie. A drunken Julie and Jason slobber all over each other and head to the bedroom. Yuck.

Also on Coronation Street this week:
Fiz is frustrated with Chesney
Becky’s hurting after her row with Steve
Teresa’s not making many friends

Emmerdale w/e Friday April 24

Another week of Emmerdale and I’ve decided that I like the Wyldes because they’re so bad. They’re absolutely terrible – the Wyldes must be the creation of a frustrated writer who wishes they’d been scripting Dynasty or The Colbys when both shows were around. They’re just not very convincing and the acting (excepting Amanda Donohoe) puts wood to shame. Maybe they’ll improve, but I doubt it. This week, the sleazy love triangle between Victoria, Daz and Aaron is finally exposed. Following Victoria’s shock revelation that she may be pregnant, Daz fears he’ll be denounced as a paedophile. But he’s in for a huge shock when Victoria reveals that there’s no baby… Sandy moves into the Woolpack; Diane’s quick to lay down the ground rules. Later however, Diane kisses Doug.

Mark offers to buy Faye a flat. Zak returns but Lisa slams the door in his face. Andy picks up on the bad feeling between Victoria and Daz so Daz lies to him. Zak promises never to let Belle down again. Jimmy and Nicola’s saucy relationship irritates Lexi. Victoria steals a key for Dale View and takes Aaron there. Carl upsets Lexi when he tells her that he’s not ready for kids yet. Daz explodes when he and Scarlett catch Victoria and Aaron. But his fury makes Scarlett and Aaron realise that something’s going on… Andy discovers the truth about Daz, thanks to Aaron; he packs up Daz’s belongings and throws him out. Realising he is serious, Daz leaves the village. Carl finds it heard to tear himself away from Chas. He is clearly still in love with her.

Also on Emmerdale this week:
Diane snaps at Val
Lexi lies to Gennie
Andy goes back on his promise to let Debbie see Sarah

EastEnders w/e Friday April 24

Ooooh a bit of totty! Actor Marc Elliott makes his debut on EastEnders this week as prodigal son Syed Masood. Or rather, the black sheep of the family. The 29-year-old turns up on Albert Square to reconnect with his family. So, what do we know about Syed then? Apart from his nice looks? Well, the story goes that after being caught stealing money from the family business, he was banished from the family home, leaving Masood to foot the blame for his actions. Talking of rotten sons, nasty Nick Cotton’s back too. And he’s got it in for his old ma – the more things change, the more they stay the same.

Back to Masood and he thinks Zainab’s having an affair. We all know who they mystery man is… obviously. Jack and Roxy talk about Amy. Chelsea meets Theo again (actor Rolan Bell has been landed with a bit of a duff character. A shame). Ian accuses Stacey of not paying for a cup of tea, but soon spots a money-making opportunity. Roxy is concerned about Ronnie.

Old school EastEnders time now as nasty Nick turns up on the Square to see Dotty. They decide to make Dot’s life a living hell. Ian’s unimpressed when he discovers that Jane’s been giving the market traders credit. Max warns Nick to stay away from Dot and Dot tells Max that he’s to blame for all his family problems. Patrick pays a visit to Tommy in hospital. Phil’s drinking puts him in a compromising situation. Christian warns Jack to stay away from Roxy. Dot begins to worry that she’s losing her mind.

Also on EastEnders this week:
Patrick pays a visit to Ruth’s family
Heather helps out at the local Brownie group
Roxy legs it after kissing Jack

Hollyoaks w/e Friday April 24

Hollyoaks has tackled many serious issues over the years: anorexia, schizophrenia and HIV, to name a few. Recently, it’s been tackling racism and Hollyoaks star Saira Choudhry (Anita Roy) has praised the soap for doing so. She’s also been talking about her life on the show, insisting that it can be anything but glamorous as there are times when she’s working six or seven days a week. I’ll try to remember that the next time they’re all glammed up for the Soap awards! Anita wakes up in a bad mood and her mother makes things worse by insisting she wear her salwar kameez; Anita cuts it up in anger. Dom is overjoyed when Loretta tells him she’s leaving her job. Anita’s having an identity crisis; she alters her online profile and uses Theresa’s photo instead.

Having moved clubs, Loretta’s now lost her flat and is homeless. Dom goes home to spruce the flat up in the hope Loretta will move in with him. In a moment of creative desperation, Rhys and Josh come up with a name for their band, The Somethings. Archie pops a bottle of celebratory Cava and sprays it all over Zoe’s laptop; in the blink of an eye, her film is gone. Theresa discovers that Anita’s pretending to be her on the social network site. She flips and accuses Anita of being a freak, leaving her in tears. A desperate Anita uses household bleach on her legs in an attempt to change herself. Darren watches Loretta and Cindy practice a few lapdancing moves. Bel struggles to come to terms with what Anita has done. Kris suggests the boys do a radio appeal to find a female singer to front The Somethings. Darren discovers Loretta’s secret. She asks him not to tell Dom – but he wants something in exchange…

Also on Hollyoaks this week:
Michaela’s fed up as she’s getting no peace at the Barnes’
Josh starts the day with an almighty hangover
Loretta’s worried Cindy’s heading for a fall
