‘Hollyoaks Later’ – The Hollyoaks Spin-Off

Hello and welcome to A Slice Of Soap. Hey soapsters, next week sees the start of the Hollyoaks spin-off ‘Hollyoaks Later’. The five daring hour-long episodes sees Guy Burnet return as Craig Dean alongside many of the regular Hollyoaks stars including Gerard McCarthy, who plays Kris Fisher, and one or two other new faces.

So, what are we to expect? Well, the episodes will see various characters travel to Belfast with unexpected results. Speaking to Digital Spy, Gerard McCarthy said: "Basically, if you break down the strands, the Ireland story is all about secrets within the Fisher family. By the end of episode five, everyone knows where they stand. All of the secrets are out and it all slots together." Among other storylines to be featured on the Hollyoaks spin-off will be: an extremely unlikely marriage; the Dirty Diegos fighting first night nerves as they prepare to play their debut gig; the students of Hollyoaks Community College spicing things up and getting more than they bargain for and Sarah Barnes and Zoe Carpenter taking their ‘relationship’ to the next level, despite Zoe being in a relationship with Sarah’s father Mike Barnes.

Gerard McCarthy admits he could soon be in need of a rest, but with five episodes of Hollyoaks plus an additional five weekly hour long episodes, something tells me that he won’t be the only one. So, are the creators of the spin-off drama being a little ambitious? Surely five episodes of Hollyoaks is enough for even the most devoted of Hollyoaks fans? I only hope that this new spin-off doesn’t suffer from over-exposure and weak storylines. More often than not, the two go hand in hand. Anyway guys, Hollyoaks Later will air on E4 from Monday November 24 and then on Channel 4 from Monday December 1.

sadie, of course I like Hollyoaks! But sometimes, quantity doesn\’t always equal quality. That\’s all I was trying to say. There are some fans that are of the opinion that our soaps have suffered due to increasing schedules – Emmerdale is a prime example. You\’ve only got to look at what some of the departing actors have said to realise that this is a key issue.

Are there any plans for bringing back Hollyoaks in the City?.   Watched them all,. plus the series again when it was repeated.   Thought it was terrific.

  5. Soap Blogger says:

Hello no name; I don\’t think Hollyoaks In The City will make a return. The writer of the show, Daran Little, announced said it hadn\’t been recommissioned due to low audience figures. I don\’t think Channel 4 will recommission something that didn\’t get the ratings for them first time around. But who know?

  6. Unknown says:

No name – you make me laugh. How can people \’not understand Hollyoaks\’. I understand it all right, it\’s a load of tosh about stupid idiots who all self centred and irritating.Sorry, I still can\’t stop laughing over someone saying that I don\’t understand Hollyoaks because I don\’t like it HAHAHA!

  7. Holly says:
