Stars Out For Corrie DVD Launch

Hello and welcome to a Slice Of Soap on the day that America has voted Barack Obama into The White House. What a great, big soap opera that has been! Hillary, Sarah Palin, McCain and the great man himself. Phew! On to events here and quite a few stars hit the zebra print carpet (not red!) at the Coronation Street: Out of Africa DVD launch in Manchester.

Thick fake tan was everywhere as the likes of Big Brother stars Chantelle Houghton, Chanelle Hayes, Big Brother 9 winner Rachel Rice and runner-up Mikey Hughes Mario Marconi and his fiancée Lisa Appleton decided to show up and remind everyone that they still exist. Rachel and Lisa wore matching purple dresses, while Mikey’s leopard-print fake fur jacket he wore in the house went well with the animal print theme, though clashed slightly with his kilt.

For those of you that don’t care about Big Brother or its mini-celebs, the real stars of the show, the night and the DVD were there in force. Just in case you’re not sure what I’m referring to, Wendi Peters (we are not worthy!), Sam Aston, Andrew Whyment and Jennie McAlpine – who play Cilla Battersby-Brown, Chesney Brown, Kirk Sutherland and Fiz Brown – have filmed a Corrie spin-off film set in South Africa. They all got glammed up for the evening and were supported by fellow Corrie co-stars Michelle Keegan (Tina McIntyre), Helen Flanagan (Rosie Webster), Tupele Dorgu (Kelly Crabtree) and Alison King (Carla Connor) – who is six months pregnant. See the pictures of who was there below…..

She looked stunning in a black 40s style dress with white polka dots and a scarlet wrap to match her lipstick. Tupele stood out in a hot pink dress while Michelle – who won best newcomer at this year’s British Soap Awards – looked very grown-up and sophisticated in a long black dress.
