All Over For Corrie’s ‘SinBad/Jerry’?

Hello and welcome to A Slice of Soap. It’s time to see what’s in store for us soap fans this week.

Coronation Street w/e September 5

So, has Teresa finally succeeded in doing away with Sinbad/Jerry? And if so, will we be watching him on the Albert Square set this time next year…(cos he does get around a bit does our Sinbad/Jerry)? Well, all will be revealed on Coronation Street.

Sinbad/Jerry’s still unconscious in ICU – poor man. Hasn’t he been through enough already? Being married to Teresa for starters. What a cow she is! Wouldn’t it be great if Cilla Battersby-Brown was still around? Can you imagine the arguments these two would’ve had? I have no idea what’s going on in Dev’s head these days. What’s he doing with Nina? She’s got him wrapped around her bling-tastic fingers. I hate to say this, but am I the only person who thinks he can do better? Anyway, he’s confused as Nina blows hot and cold – can he cope with her games? Gail tries to appear casual when Tina tells her she thinks her dad’s got a girlfriend. Sean has a bust-up on the phone with Marcus and Tom becomes his shoulder to cry on. Eye-eye! What’s going on there then?

Meanwhile, Roy has an unpleasant encounter with two customers in the cafe. Tyrone’s fed up of relying on Pam’s scams to boost his wedding fund until he hits upon a new idea….

Also on Coronation Street:
Tom and Liam need to find £50,000
Roy and Ken are questioned over a drugs deal
Mel’s devastated by Abi’s bad news

Emmerdale w/e September 5

Now as we all know, the fight for ratings sometimes makes soap writers write the most desperate things. Den coming back from the dead in EastEnders and Coronation Street’s yawnsome baby swap storylines are just two. But Emmerdale? Omigod. Emmerdale might just have topped them with this one. It’s been heavily reported that some of the stars are apparently upset with a storyline that sees one of its older characters contract a sexually transmitted infection. "This has to be the tackiest story of all time," said a source. Why? Well stick with the soap this week and you’ll find out.

On with the action and downtrodden Jo blames herself for Andy’s ill health. Marlon and Paddy attempt to sabotage what they think are Jamie’s cabbages. It’s a case of mistaken identity because it’s not Jamie’s cabbages. Nicola tries to use Belle to get another story out of Rodney. Matthew’s set upon by someone from his past brandishing a gun. The situation worsens when Katie returns early and ends up being held at gunpoint too. The village show descends into chaos; Terry’s furious that his vegetables are missing and blames Jamie. Carl is torn when Jimmy urges him to return to the Kings. Here we go: Doug’s had casual sex and, as a result, he’s scratching himself like mad. A disgusted Brenda calls the police on him. She doesn’t realise it’s cos he’s got crabs; I don’t know if I can watch….Rodney is suspicious and tries to suss out Nicola’s game. Will he get to the truth?

Also on Emmerdale:
Belle double-crosses Nicola
Doug asks Brenda for a date
Bob throws McNally out of the cafe

EastEnders w/e September 5

So. Did you think the scenes of Jase Dyer being killed were too violent? Hundreds of EastEnders viewers have complained that the pre-watershed episode of Jase’s stabbing by a criminal gang was too much for the time of night. In a statement, the BBC said: "Whilst we acknowledge that this was a particularly dramatic episode, we were very careful to make sure any actual violence was implied rather than explicit, and it was made clear from the outset that Jase’s life was in serious jeopardy." Yeah, yeah, yeah, whatever. This isn’t the first time EastEnders has crossed the line, and it won’t be the last time.

Back to the storylines and, unsurprisingly, Dawn struggles to pick up the pieces following Jase’s death. Honey finds bundles of cash in the flat and immediately suspects that it’s not kosher. Well, with a Jonah like Billy for a husband, you wouldn’t think it’s a lottery win, would you? Tanya and Jack return from holiday to find Max a changed man. Billy fights to save his marriage. Does he succeed? Let’s put it this way, Honey gets into a cab with the kids. Phil comes under mounting pressure from Suzy. Bradley prepares to celebrate his 21st, will he keep his secret from Stacey – and will she be able to keep Callum at arm’s length? Bianca seeks counsel from Christian when she questions Whitney’s sexuality. Stacey’s confused following her encounter with Callum and Billy sinks into depression.

Also on EastEnders:
Max stumbles upon some incriminating evidence
Callum gets a trial on the fruit and veg stall
Dawn makes Garry an offer he can’t refuse

Hollyoaks w/e September 5

Big news this week as Craig Dean (played by Guy Burnet) returns! Also, calling all Chris Fountain fans. He is continuing to build up his name and profile outside of Hollyoaks – this time, signing up to play alongside the likes of Craig David, Angus Deayton, McFly’s Danny Jones, Jamie Theakston and Gareth Gates for Robbie Williams and Jonathan Wilkes’ brainchild, Soccer Aid. Hosted by Ant and Dec, it airs on ITV1 this Sunday, September 7 so don’t miss it. Back to the soap and the Osbornes’ debts should be cleared and Darren relishes having money in his hands. Hannah announces she’s running for Entertainments Officer. Mercedes is determined the relationship with Malachy should be more than just sex. Michaela thinks she’s being supportive of Amy, but doesn’t realise she’s winding her up. Jack has an angina attack as the stress of his secret becomes too much to bear.

Craig returns but Kieron’s angry when he sees John Paul with him. Kieron storms out and John Paul knows he’s still torn between them. Amy worries about what people will say when they find out she’s pregnant again. Michaela’s jealous when Mike tells her he’s going for a romantic break with Zoe. Jacqui struggles to cope after giving up Max. Steph feels guilty after spending the night with Niall. Jacqui almost burns down Il Gnosh and there will be no wedding between John Paul and Kieron as it looks like it’s all over between them…

Also on Hollyoaks:
Newt dreads going back to school
Darren and Jack want to move to Spain
Mercedes and Malachy annoy Kris

Re Eastenders if people cant handle a live man pretending to be dead they should not be watching it anyway.  Everybody knew it was going to happen, I would not be letting kids watch soaps anyway especially if I knew there was something on that would make them cry, it is only make believe, and whilst I would rather no violence, swearing etc was put on it is supposted to be about life and these sort of things happen, if anything watching something like that I would be pointing out the consequences of getting involved with people like those potrayed, but it is NOT REAL

  2. marie says:

re eastenders i reckon the actor who plays jay was brilliant in the episode when jase died.if he doesnt get an awar for it theres something wrong.

RE: Coronation Street. I so totally agree  about Teresa in Corrie. She is such a cow. Emmerdales storyline with Katie and Matthew being held at gunpoint sounds so intresting i wonder who it will be lol. Don\’t watch Eastenders so who cares  about there storyline it\’s normally just someone bein beatern up and being killed so who cares.

  4. sam says:
