Just in case you didn’t catch it, you can read all about it here. It appears that Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber is to make his acting debut in Hollyoaks! Now that’s what I call news…here’s the story:
Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber is to appear in three episodes of Hollyoaks. The theatre producer will play himself in the Channel 4 soap in late January and has said that he is thrilled at the opportunity. He revealed: "I have blurred fiction with fact all my life, but never before on national TV. Bless Hollyoaks for asking me."
He makes his appearance when Summer Shaw decides to stalk him in a bid for West End stardom. She eventually manages to audition for her idol but the performance does not go according to plan. Actress Summer Strallen, who plays Summer, said: "It’s been a brilliant storyline and to have the opportunity to work with Andrew Lloyd Webber was fantastic.
"Hollyoaks viewers will have to tune in to find out if Summer does enough to impress Andrew Lloyd Webber or if she’ll live happily ever after in the village with OB!"
Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber making his acting debut on ‘Hollwoodoaks’ the soap with all the beautiful people? I wonder how much he paid the producers for his slot on Britain’s answer to BayWatch cos as talented a musician as he is, one thing’s for certain, he’s no oil painting. He’ll be well out of place on the soap for beautiful people.
Hey, but fun and joke aside, it seems like they’re starting a bit of a trend on "Hollywoodoaks". If you recall last month Big Brother’s Brian Belo appeared on the soap (alright it’s true that if you blinked you would have missed him, but he did appear on the show. He did! I promise you!) and now with Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber doing his stint it makes you wonder who’s gonna be next… maybe high pants himself, old Simon Cowell. He’s not doing anything at the moment now that the X Factor’s over (and thank goodness cos it was definitely the worst X Factor in living memory).
Yeah, I can just see it now, Summer – who in real life is the niece of actress Bonnie Langford – walks out onto the stage. She’s just about to burst into song when she’s rudely interrupted by Simon Cowell: "Stop! Stop! you’ll never make it as a singer…whatever you do, don’t give up your day job." To which Summer (in the words of the 1970s character Violet Elizabeth off the popular kids TV show Just William) replies: "Mr Cowell, you’re just a nasty horrid little man…I can sing and if you don’t make me a star I’ll thcweam and I’ll thcweam until I’m sick." After all, she’s the niece of Bonnie Langford and acting as a diva is in the blood…
Anyway guys Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber’s acting debut will be broadcast on January 29, 30 and February 1 next year so whatever you do, don’t miss it.
