Hello and welcome to A Slice Of Soap. Well guys, it looks like the Coronation Street scriptwriters have really got it in for the Connors. Not content with Michelle’s forthcoming baby swap saga, it now appears that they’re trying to kill off poor old Liam. Here’s the story in today’s Mirror:
It’S a cliffhanger – as Coronation Street factory boss Liam Connor is winched to safety after plunging 300ft in the Lake District.
Liam, played by Rob James-Collier, 30, is walking with pregnant girlfriend Maria when disaster strikes. The RAF and mountain rescue teams oversaw shooting of the dramatic scenes – which will hit telly screens in the New Year. Fans of the ITV1 soap will see Liam strapped to a stretcher.
A show insider said: “Liam takes Maria away for a romantic break. “She screams in terror and calls the emergency services – who carry out a daring rescue.”
Can’t wait to see all the action. I only wish that it had been ‘Cluuuuuuuurrrrr’ and boooooorrring Ashley who’d decided to take the trip down to the Lake District cos I’d love to see the back of those two. But hey, thank goodness ‘Sinbad’ Jerry wasn’t any where near that cliff. Can you imagine the trouble the RAF and mountain rescue team would have trying to save him? They’d probably take one look at ‘Sinbad’ Jerry’s waist-line, a quick glance at the RAF Helicopter and say "Naaaaah….leave this one mate." RAF helicopters don’t come cheap these days! Oooooh that was a bit cruel of me. I love him really! Anyway, it looks like the Connors have got an exciting year ahead on Corrie. They’re fast turning into the family of doom – like the Platts.
After watching Brian’s Belo’s ‘blink-and-you’ll-miss-him’ performance on Tuesday night’s episode of Hollyoaks, EastEnders extra Gus Smith is now in talks with the producers of the popular soap because…
…..the amount of screen time Brian was given is more than he’s had in two months.
That’s it for now. Join me on Monday for a preview of all the week’s soaps. Got a comment about your favourite soap, this blog or anything else? Share it with me.
